A controversial Mumbai police official, Daya Nayak, has confronted suspension on disciplinary grounds and is well-known for gunning down greater than 80 gangsters in “encounters”
Police inspector Daya Nayak, also called ‘Encounter specialist’, has been transferred from the Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS), sources instructed CNN-News18 on Monday.
A 1995-batch officer of the state cadre, Nayak was with the Maharashtra ATS (Anti-Terrorism Squad) in Mumbai and headed the elite drive’s unit based mostly in suburban Juhu. Nayak, who has been a topic of controversy, has beforehand been suspended on disciplinary grounds.
