Ramco Systems, the software firm from Chennai’s Ramco Group, has launched Chia, a conversational AI chatbot that can automatically handle customer support requests for businesses.
According to Abinav Raja, Managing Director, Ramco Systems, unlike standard chatbots that struggle with complex requests, Chia enables enterprises to design multi-step workflows so that customer support issues can be resolved from start to finish without human intervention.
This is expected to reduce manual effort, speed up responses, and operating costs, enabling businesses to deliver superior customer experiences at scale, the company said.
Raja added that a key advantage that Chia had over its competitors is that workflows can be built using natural language with minimal code or engineering required, allowing even non-tech savvy customer experience teams to create and modify them.
The company plans to sell Chia to enterprise customers with large customer support teams across sectors such as BFSI, telecom, E-commerce, retail, healthcare and travel. We will first bundle it along with ERP and payroll solutions for existing customers in these sectors, before targeting new clients, Raja said. He added that the overall market for conversational chatbots is around $12 billion.
Addressing how SaaS products such as Chia would be insulated from vibe coding solutions that have grown to compete with the SaaS sector, Raja said the security guardrails and integrations with multiple third-party platforms that a product offers cannot be replicated at scale using vibe coding tools.
Going forward, Raja said the company plans to introduce AI native and agentic solutions across all its product lines, including ERP, payroll and software for Aviation MRO.
