Here’s What Both Captains Said During Toss
Shreyas lyer (Punjab Kings Captain):
“We are going to bat first. In the last few games, we batted first and we have that liberty to go after the bowlers and get that big total on the board. We have decided to play aggressive cricket and that’s the mindset as of now. See, we have seen that we don’t have fantastic record in the powerplay. We havev to see that we don’t have that thought at the back of our minds. Every individual knows how to play.”
“Just be in the present and tell everyone to be brave and we have to be top-class in whichever situation we are in. We have had fantastic few games and we have to repeat it again and again. We are going with the same team.”
Pat Cummins (Sunrisers Hyderabad Captain):
“That’s fine. It’s pretty high-scoring. Whatever total you score, you have to bowl well to defend it. So, fine to bowl first. It’s not been an ideal start to the season. Feels like everyone is in a good space. Training very well. Just doubling down and having clear plans as a bowling group.”
“It’s always there. You can’t stress too much. It’s a long season. Things can turn around pretty quickly in T20 cricket. One change. Eshan Malinga plays his first game and he comes in place of Kamindu.”
