Actor and television host Jay Bhanushali has finally broken his silence amid ongoing rumours of his separation from wife Mahhi Vij. The actor shared a heartwarming video with his daughter Tara on Instagram, leaving fans both emotional and relieved to see a glimpse of his family life.
In the video, little Tara can be seen adorably dancing to the viral song “There’s squirrels in my pants”, while Jay playfully lip-syncs the line “that girl’s got some serious squirrels in her pants.” The light-hearted clip has quickly gone viral, with fans showering love on the father-daughter duo.
Sharing the video, Jay captioned it, “When Dad is alone with the kid this has to happen.”
Mahhi Vij Drops Heartfelt Comment
Amid the buzz surrounding their reported separation, Mahhi Vij took to the comments section and wrote, “Tara is the cutest.” Jay responded simply but warmly, saying, “True.”
Their short yet affectionate exchange caught the attention of fans, many of whom expressed hope that the couple might reconcile. One user wrote, “Please don’t get separated. You both are so adorable. Divorce Papers Reportedly Finalised
According to a report by Hindustan Times, Jay and Mahhi filed for divorce earlier this year after several attempts to mend their relationship. The report claims that the divorce papers were “signed and finalised” between July and August 2025, with custody arrangements for their children already decided.
A source cited in the report said, “Separation happened a long time ago. Much was tried, but nothing changed.”
Jay and Mahhi, who tied the knot in 2011, share daughter Tara, born in 2019, and foster children Rajveer and Khushi, whom they took in in 2017. The couple was last seen together publicly during Tara’s birthday celebration in August.
While Mahhi reportedly moved into a new home recently, Jay has been spending time with his children, as seen in his recent posts. Fans, however, continue to hope that the couple will find their way back to each other.
