Saudi Arabia-Houthi Conflict
Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s internationally recognised government have faced repeated attacks by Houthi rebels in recent weeks, shifting attention within the West Asian conflict that intensified with the US-Iran war in February.
The Iran-backed Houthis have captured large stretches of territory along Yemen’s Red Sea coast, while a counteroffensive by government forces, backed by Saudi air support, has so far failed to reclaim the lost ground.
The group has also launched multiple attacks targeting Saudi airports and religious sites, prompting countries such as France to seek assistance.
