Joheirry Mola of the Dominican Republic has been crowned Miss World 2026, bringing home the coveted title after an exciting grand finale held in Vietnam today, September 5. Representing the Dominican Republic, she emerged as the winner after beating Spain’s Elisabeth Reynes, who was the first runner-up, and Malaysia’s Taanusiya Chetty, who finished as the second runner-up.
Dominican Republic’s Joheirry Mola crowned Miss World 2026
Joheirry Mola was crowned by her predecessor, Opal Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand, who won the 72nd Miss World title last year. The official Instagram handle of the Miss India Organisation congratulated Joheirry Mola on her achievement and shared a post online.
In the caption, they wrote, “A new chapter in Miss World history has been crowned. Heartiest congratulations to @joheirry_mola of the Dominican Republic on winning the 73rd Miss World title (sic).”
It further added, “May your year as Miss World be filled with impact, compassion, unforgettable experiences and the power to inspire lives across borders. Congratulations, Joheirry. The crown is yours, and the world now watches your journey begin (sic).” Take a look below:
Miss World 2026: About Top 6 finalists
The Top 6 finalists included Eritrea’s Snit Habteab, who won the People’s Choice award; Spain’s Elisabeth Reynés, representing Europe; Malaysia’s Taanusiya Chetty, representing Beauty With a Purpose; Vietnam’s Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc, representing Asia & Oceania; Dominican Republic’s Joheirry Mola, representing the Americas & Caribbean; and South Africa’s Romanda Hombir, representing Africa.
India’s Nikita Porwal eliminated from Miss World 2026
India’s Nikita Porwal got eliminated from Miss World 2026 journey after finishing among the Top 40 contestants. She could not made it to the Top 20 at the grand finale that took place in Vietnam on Saturday, September 5.
While announcing this, Miss India Organisation on Instagram wrote, “Nikita Porwal concludes her 73rd Miss World journey among the Top 40, continuing India’s remarkable streak of placing at five consecutive editions of Miss World.”
It also added, “Nikita, you carried India with grace, conviction and heart on one of the world’s biggest stages. From every moment you gave us to every cheer you brought home, thank you for representing us so beautifully. India is proud of you, always.”
For the grand finale night, Nikita Porwal opted for a custom-made outfit designed by Bhawna Rao.
