According to ECI sources, around 61 lakh doubtful cases have been handed over for adjudication. These electors will be eligible to vote only if cleared by judges and included in supplementary lists.
Of the 7,04,59,284 electorate, 3,60,22,642 are male and 3,44,35,260 female voters. On October 27, 2025, when the SIR began and the roll was frozen, male voters stood at 3,89,03,865 and female voters at 3,77,31,887. The female-to-male ratio currently stands at 956:1000, Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Agarwal said.
Agarwal urged voters to participate in large numbers. “We want to convey to all that they should exercise the franchise as a festival of democracy and West Bengal should lead the voting percentage in the country,” he said, adding that those whose names were deleted will get 15 days to file appeals.
The total deletion through Form 7 applications stood at 5,46,053, while additions through Forms 6 and 6A were 1,82,036 and 6,671 corrections were made under Form 8.
After publication of the draft roll, the electorate stood at 7,08,16,630 following deletion of 58,20,899 names.
In Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s Bhabanipur Assembly constituency, the total electorate stands at 1,59,201 after exclusion of 2,342 names since the draft roll. Overall deletions in Bhabanipur in the final roll stand at 47,111, with 14,154 cases pending adjudication.In Nandigram Assembly constituency in East Midnapore district, represented by the Leader of the Opposition, the total number of deleted names in the final voters’ list stands at 10,994. Since the draft roll, 1,167 voters have been excluded, while 8,819 cases remain under judicial adjudication.
