Visakhapatnam/New Delhi: The World Trade Center (WTC) Tower has been inaugurated at the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) campus in Visakhapatnam.
The center is indicated to have added one lakh square feet of advanced infrastructure to support India’s medical technology ecosystem.
The facility is stated to combine scientific laboratories, co-working spaces, and testing centres to provide startups with resources to innovate, prototype, and scale their solutions.
The new tower is anchored by AIC-AMTZ MediValley Incubation.
The incubation program provides access to funding through DBT-BIRAC, NITI Aayog, DPIIT, ICMR, and the Department of Pharmaceuticals, while also enabling global exposure via partnerships with WHO, the World Health Innovation Forum, TiE, and IASP.
According to MediValley, its location within the 270-acre AMTZ campus provides access to NABL-accredited labs, BIS recognition, CDSCO registration, and ISO/IEC 17025 certification for testing and calibration.
The company also states that it has mobilized over INR 60 crore in grants, including INR 7 crore recently sanctioned by the Department of Pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Jitendra Sharma, Executive Chairman of AIC-AMTZ MediValley and Managing Director & Founder CEO of AMTZ, said the initiative is about “building capacity for India’s next generation of MedTech leaders,” while noting that the upcoming 50,000 sq. ft. incubation hub will strengthen India’s position as a global MedTech hub.
