This Pistachio Tres Leches recipe blends the classic milk-soaked sponge with a subtle pistachio richness, creating a dessert that’s both unique and comforting. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to make this delicious treat at home.
Ingredients: 6 Bread slices, 2 tbsp butter, 2 tbsp sugar, 0.5 cup American pistachios, 1.5 cup milk, fresh cream, condensed milk.
Spread butter on the bread slices and sprinkle with sugar. Toast them until they turn golden brown and develop a light, crisp texture.
Grind blanched pistachios with a splash of milk and a bit of cream until you get a smooth, creamy paste.
In a pan, combine equal parts milk, condensed milk, and cream. Stir in 2 tablespoons of pistachio paste and bring the mixture to a gentle boil for 2–3 minutes.
Soak the toasted bread in the warm milk mixture and place a layer in a dish. Spread a portion of pistachio cream over it and repeat to create 2–3 layered stacks.
Pour the remaining milk mixture over the layered bread, chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, and serve cold.
