A man has been arrested for sexually abusing multiple young female students at a school run by his wife in Gujranwala, local police said on Thursday.
The suspect, identified as Imran, had been running a canteen inside the government-affiliated non-formal education school, which his wife Sajida operated from their home in the Therhi Sansi area.
According to authorities, Imran exploited his position to target students over several years.Imran had secretly filmed the assaults, intimidating his victims into silence.
The matter came to light when one of the victims, a minor, confided in her parents that she had been repeatedly assaulted.
She also revealed that other classmates had suffered similar abuse.
Following the disclosure,the parents contacted each other and then informed the police leading to Imran’s arrest.
Initial investigations identified five victims aged between 11 and 14, but authorities fear there may be more.
The police have filed five separate cases against the accused, who has confessed to the crime during questioning.
Authorities have also closed the school pending further investigation.
