A Sangrur youth recognized as Sunny Mishal (25) allegedly died of drug overdose at a house keep close to the Golden Temple right here two days in the past. The police are awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the trigger of dying.
Following a criticism by his father, the police have arrested one of his mates who was accompanying him on the lodge whereas one other youth was absconding, stated the police.
A case was registered on the cost of culpable murder not amounting to homicide. Besides the arrested youth, Manpreet Singh of Bazigar Basti, Sangrur, the police have booked Rattan, alias Channi, of Ram Nagar Basti in Sangrur within the case.
Investigating officer Assistant Sub-Inspector Sukhwinder Singh stated the three youths had come to Amritsar and stayed right here at a house keep close to the Golden Temple. There, the sufferer’s well being deteriorated allegedly as a consequence of drug overdose. Manpreet and Rattan took him again to Sangrur the place he was rushed to the Civil Hospital. However, the medical doctors declared him introduced lifeless.
Shocked over the incident, deceased’s father Harbans Lal lodged a criticism with the Sangrur police on this connection which registered a zero FIR. As the spot was within the space falling beneath Division B police station, the FIR was forwarded to them for additional motion.
A staff led by ASI Sukhwinder Singh went to Sangrur and after holding an preliminary probe, arrested Manpreet. He stated a medical examination of Manpreet could be performed, whereas raids have been on to nab Rattan, who was absconding for the reason that incident.
He stated the autopsy was performed at Sangrur Civil Hospital and post-mortem report was awaited.
