In the Delhi leg of his tour, he performed to a packed audience at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on November 8-9. Raina, who had retreated from public appearances earlier this year, seemed visibly more at ease as he reflected on the highs and lows of the viral show that made him one of the biggest — if not the biggest — digital entertainers in India.
At the height of the show’s popularity, every third reel on Instagram seemed to be from India’s Got Latent, a testament to its viral hold on the internet.
While closing his show, Raina said that India’s Got Latent couldn’t have had a better end — a line that instantly made the audience fall silent, thinking he was closing the chapter for good. Then he paused, smiled knowingly, and flipped the moment on its head, hinting that it wasn’t the end after all. “The first season of the show couldn’t have had a better end.”
What followed was the loudest cheer of the night. And just to make it official, he dropped the line that sealed it — “Show toh main wapas launga” (I will bring back the show). Raina said he wasn’t sure when or where it would return, but made it clear: it’s coming back.
The declaration was met with deafening cheers. For fans, it was not just an announcement — it was redemption. The first season of India’s Got Latent had exploded online, but its success was soon overshadowed by controversy. A viral clip featuring panelist Ranveer Allahbadia drew sharp backlash after viewers called one of his remarks insensitive. The outrage spiraled into legal trouble — multiple FIRs were filed against Ranveer, Raina, and other panelists, leading to police summons and intense social media scrutiny. For Raina, the fallout was deeply personal. He has since admitted the controversy took a severe toll on his mental health. During his show, he spoke candidly about that period, calling it one of the most difficult phases of his life. The mental strain was one of the reasons he stepped away, choosing silence over spectacle.
Even as OTT platforms lined up with lucrative offers to host India’s Got Latent, Raina stayed away — by choice. In an earlier video, he explained why: “Thanks to memberships, I’m already in profit. Do you get it? And that makes me happy because right now, OTT platforms are offering me huge sums to bring India’s Got Latent to their platforms. But the problem? They’ll have too much control over the content.”
He added that he wanted to preserve the show’s raw, unfiltered spirit. “I don’t want to cut this joke, I don’t want to mute certain things. I want it to stay raw. Controversy might follow, but I’d rather keep it raw,” he had said.
That uncompromising stance — on authenticity over corporate polish — is exactly what his fans admire him for.
Raina’s Delhi performance wasn’t just about laughter. It was about ownership — of his art, his journey, and his scars. By hinting at the return of India’s Got Latent, Raina wasn’t just teasing a show — he was reclaiming a chapter that once left him broken.
And judging by the reaction of the thousands in attendance, India is more than ready to tune in again.
