While stating that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has not discussed electoral bonds as yet, newly re-elected general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale said, “At this moment, we perceive it as an experiment.”
Addressing the press in Nagpur on Sunday, Hosabale said, “RSS has not discussed the issue. The decision must have been taken factoring in certain safeguards. It is not that it has come up suddenly. Time will tell how it has benefitted. We are looking at it as an experiment.”
The three-day Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha concluded at Reshimbagh in Nagpur on Sunday. At the conclave, the apex body of RSS re-elected Dattatreya Hosabale as its sarkaryavah (general secretary) for next three years. Almost 1,500 delegates attended the conclave.
Later speaking to the press, Hosabale answered questions on the controversial electoral bonds, the right wing’s agenda on Kashi, Maharashtra, and PM Narendra Modi’s ten years regime.
As per the RSS leader, “When new ideas are introduced there is always opposition. When EVMs were introduced they too were opposed.”
While welcoming the uniform civil code (UCC), he said the ABPS had passed a resolution demanding its implementation across the country in ABPS. Uttarakhand has enforced the resolution. Certain issues regarding succession, marriage and adoption will have to be addressed before laws around them are implemented in the country.
Responding to Kashi and Mathura agenda of the right wing, after the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Hosbale said, “The agitation undertaken for Ramjanmabhoomi should not be replicated. It is not needed. The matter is in court, let the court resolve it.” Moreover, the religious and social organisations concerned will guide the Hindu society.
The RSS was not inimical to any community, but objects to politics of appeasement in name of minorityism. The Indian Constitution has clearly defined the concept of minorityism. RSS believes everybody is equal.
