Chennai-based Trackerwave, a company that builds Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS) products for hospitals, is looking to expand its offerings to the government hospitals segment in India.
RTLS are a combination of hardware devices and software that allow large teams within hospitals to manage services like moving patients, coordinating samples and checking the availability of various medical equipment using a centralised system rather than individual point solutions or manual records.
Speaking to businessline, Pradeep Vadakkekhatt, Co-founder and Director at Trackerwave said that a wave of greenfield government hospitals are now increasingly looking at technology to best utilise their resources and this it has created a huge market for solution providers like Trackerwave.
Trackerwave currently offers RTLS solutions to its footprint of 150 customers who are almost entirely private hospital chains. Out of its customer base, about 100 are Indian hospitals chains including Apollo Hospitals, Max Healthcare and Proton Cancer Centre. Internationally, it has a presence in the Middle East and South Asia and is looking to enter the US market this year.
Vadakkekhatt added that the company is looking to expand its footprint to about 300 hospitals, a significant portion of which would be government hospitals in India.
He added that private equity investments in smaller hospital chains have also been a tailwind for the RTLS industry as institutional players often like to infuse such technological innovations into hospital operations. He added that the productivity gains from Trackerwave’s solutions are suitable for hospitals with a minimum of 100 beds.
Trackerwave closed FY26 with revenues of about ₹11 crore and is expecting a topline of about ₹30 crore in the current fiscal ending March 2027.
