The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday fastened habeas corpus petition seeking Khalistan sympathiser Amritpal Singh’s ‘launch’ for April 24 after making it clear that his counsel had not come out with concrete info on the place of his alleged detention by the Punjab Police regardless of repeated alternatives.
As the case got here up resumed listening to earlier than Justice N.S. Shekhawat’s Bench, the counsel for the petitioner argued that he had submitted his stand. The State, alternatively, contended that thus far it had not acquired any reply from the petitioner’s counsel.

The Bench was earlier informed by the petitioner that he was the authorized advisor to organisation ‘Waris Punjab De’ and alleged detainee Amritpal. Among different issues, petitioner had alleged that Amritpal had been illegally and forcibly detained with none authority of regulation. Directions have been additionally sought for the appointment of a warrant officer to go to the “spot”. “If the detainee is present in unlawful custody of the respondents, he be set at liberty forthwith,” the petitioner added.
