Bhopal: The initial round of MBBS seat allocation for 2025 in Madhya Pradesh has concluded, with DME data showing 4,181 seats distributed across the medical colleges.
The first round allotment list (provisional) for MP state combined NEET UG counselling 2025 was released here on Monday.
The allocation split shows near parity between sectors, with 2,102 seats in govt establishments and 2,079 in private institutions.
Bhopal dominated the allocations with 1,337 seats across 7 colleges. Indore secured 544 seats in 3 colleges, while Jabalpur filled 348 seats in 2 colleges. Single-college centres including Gwalior, Ratlam, Vidisha, Ujjain, Satna and Rewa received allocations between 120-160 seats in the allocation process.
Amongst govt institutions, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, Indore led with 209 allocations, while Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, Jabalpur followed with 204 and 203 seats respectively.
Private institutions including Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences (Indore), Chirayu Medical College (Bhopal), Peoples College of Medical Science (Bhopal), and Amaltas Institute (Dewas) each received approximately 240 allocations. There were distinctive patterns to be found.
For government institutions, the General (UR) category’s final placement occurred at Rank 51,439 (Score 501) in Neemuch, while private institutions’ last UR placement was at Rank 118,387 (Score 452) in Sehore.
The distribution indicates that while govt institutions remain primary choices for high-ranking candidates, private colleges in Bhopal and Indore have established themselves as viable options, achieving near-complete seat occupancy.
As reported yesterday, in NEET UG 2025 Round 1 counseling, AIIMS-Bhopal opened at rank 148, a drop from its 2024 opening rank of 79. Yet in closing ranks, AIIMS-Bhopal held firm at 524 (510 in 2024), ahead of Bhubaneswar (706), Rishikesh (685), Nagpur (862), and Rajkot (1997). Despite its weaker start, Bhopal’s overall competitiveness remains intact.
AIIMS-Delhi maintained its unmatched status, opening at rank 1 and closing at 47. AIIMS-Jodhpur opened at 55, nearly 100 ranks ahead of Bhopal, while AIIMS Bhubaneswar (60), Rajkot (93), and Nagpur (136) also attracted higher opening ranks, signaling stronger early preference. Looking ahead, college level admission and document verification will be carried out from Aug 19 to 23.
The last date for admission cancellation is Aug 24, while Monday was the last day for All India Quota counseling candidates to report to allotted colleges in Round 1.
