Modi urged people to vote for BJP to ‘unravel the truth’ and ‘punish the guilty’ at an election rally later in the district. Modi alleged that the Gehlot-led Congress government was ‘steeped in corruption’ and should be ‘booted out to usher in development.’
“Have you heard of the red diary? People say that all black deeds of corruption by Congress in the last five years were recorded in a red diary. Shouldn’t the black deeds be revealed? Shouldn’t the account of corruption be settled, and fraudsters punished.” As long as Congress was in power, ‘truth’ will never be made public and the ‘guilty will not face action,’ Modi alleged. He urged people to vote for BJP to ‘ensure justice.’
Waiving a red diary in the Rajasthan assembly during the monsoon session, Rajendra Gudha, a minister in the Gehlot government who was sacked later, had alleged that it had details of ‘illegal financial transactions’ made by officials. He was removed by marshals from the House and suspended for the remaining term of the assembly session.
Modi alleged a ‘paper-leak mafia’ was active in Rajasthan. Congress had rode to power after promising employment doles and jobs but ‘ended up spoiling the future of lakhs of youth,’ Modi alleged.
“I make you one more promise: Strictest action will be taken against the paper-leak mafia,” he said. ‘Misgovernance’ has pushed Rajasthan to the top on ‘magnitude of corruption’ and on ‘number of riots’ in the last five years, he alleged. The state government ‘failed’ to check ‘atrocities’ against women and Dalits and ‘gave a free hand to drug trade,’ he alleged. “Did you vote for Congress for this destruction, for this rampant loot?”The Congress regime ‘did not control riots to protect its vote-bank,’ he alleged. What was the government doing when riots took place in Jodhpur, he asked. “A woman MLA from the Congress has said that she does not feel safe in the state.” He alleged that Congress and the Opposition parties were ‘not in favour’ of the women’s reservation bill and ‘reluctantly’ supported it.Modi mentioned a new movie, The Vaccine War, and claimed the ‘Opposition had issues’ with the depiction of scientists, including a high number of women, who invented the Covid-19 vaccine.
Modi referred to subsidy on LPG cylinders for Ujjwala beneficiaries and said they paid Rs 500 less now. BJP aimed to make Rajasthan a major hub of education, the number one state on tourism, provide the best health facilities, Modi said.
