The Punjab authorities on Thursday extended the suspension of cell internet and SMS services in Tarn Taran and Ferozepur districts until Friday midday whereas lifting the curbs in Moga, Sangrur, Ajnala sub-division in Amritsar and some areas in Mohali.
Mobile internet services in the remainder of Punjab resumed on March 21.
According to an order issued on Thursday by the state dwelling affairs division and justice, the curbs on cell internet services have been extended in Tarn Taran and Ferozepur districts “in the curiosity of public security, to forestall any incitement to violence and to forestall any disturbance of peace and public order”.
“It is directed that each one cell internet services, all SMS services (excluding banking and cell recharge) and all dongle services offered on cell networks, besides the voice calls, in the territorial jurisdiction of Punjab shall proceed to stay suspended from March 23 (1200 hours) to March 24 (1200 hours) solely in the districts Tarn Taran and Ferozepur in continuation of this workplace order quantity 1821 dated March 21,” it stated.
Broadband services weren’t suspended in order that banking amenities, hospital services and different important services are usually not disrupted, stated the order.
