A 31-year-old librarian died after allegedly jumping in front of a moving Metro train in Delhi’s Dwarka Monday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Manish Kumar, a resident of Prem Nagar. As per the police, Delhi Metro authorities informed them about the incident around 9.26 am.

“We were told that a man jumped in front of a moving train. His body was recovered and sent to the hospital. We checked the CCTVs at the metro station and outside to ascertain if it was an accident or a case of suicide. He was seen jumping,” said an officer.
Kumar worked as a librarian in Uttarakhand’s Devprayag district. Police said he often came to Delhi for work and his family also lives here. He is survived by his wife and their daughter. Inquest proceedings have been initiated in the case. No suicide note was found at the spot. Police said they will question the family and colleagues to ascertain the reason behind the incident.
Metro services were slightly delayed due to the incident. Officers said they were started again in 30 minutes.
