Lucknow: Lucknow University on Wednesday signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with two medical universities in Tajikistan — Avicenna State Medical University, Dushanbe and Medical University Khaflan.
The MOUs aim to promote academic partnership, research initiatives and student exchange programme. A key focus of the collaboration is the integration of Indian traditions such as yoga, naturopathy and alternative health practices, into the curriculum and research agendas of the Tajik universities.
Alok Kumar Rai, Vice-Chancellor, Lucknow University, said, “In today’s educational landscape, interdisciplinary approaches are crucial to addressing global challenges. This partnership will enhance the ability of medical universities to work collaboratively with other disciplines to meet the need of society.”
The MoUs outline three primary areas of cooperation — academic collaboration through joint programmes and expertise-sharing, research initiatives focused on medical advancements and knowledge exchange and student exchange programme, offering opportunities for cultural and academic enrichment and exposure.
Gulzoda Mohammad Shah Kurban Ali, the Rector of Tajik State Medical University, said, “Indian traditions in yoga and naturopathy are fascinating and hold immense potential. This partnership will open new doors for advancement in medical science and healthcare.”
