The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) led by former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao has announced its candidate lineup for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In Telangana, the contest is likely to be between the ruling Congress, the BRS, and the BJP.
Following is the full list of BRS’s Lok Sabha candidates named so far:
| S. No. | Candidates | Constituency |
| #1 | Nama Nageswara Rao | Khammam |
| #2 | B Vinod Kumar | Karimnagar |
| #3 | Maloth Kavitha | Mahabubabad |
| #4 | Koppula Eshwar | Peddapalli |

Vinod Kumar, who lost the 2019 election in Karimnagar, faces tough competition from BJP’s Bandi Sanjay Kumar, whose candidature has already been announced. BJP’s Lok Sabha Candidate List For Telangana Feature 5 Names Previously Associated With BRS
Notably, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in its first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls, included nine names for Telangana. Notably, five of these candidates – Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, Eatala Rajender, Boora Narsaiah Goud, Pothuganti Bharat, and BB Patil – have previous associations with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
According to a report by the Times Of India (TOI), the party was mulling replacing five of its nine sitting MPs to field new candidates, resulting in a total of 10 new faces out of 17 seats.
The decision to replace sitting MPs reportedly stems from an assessment of their performance, while one MP from Medak has been elected as an MLA in the recent state elections. The TOI report said that the party shortlisted three names for each Lok Sabha constituency and cited party sources as revealing that several potential candidates have already been tasked with working in their respective constituencies, including Chevella MP G Ranjith Reddy, Karimnagar ex-MP B Vinod Kumar, and Khammam MP Nama Nageswara Rao.
However, some sitting MPs may not be considered for re-election. One MP, Venkatesh Neta, has already left the party to join Congress, while another, Nagarkurnool MP P Ramulu joined the BJP amid speculation that his candidature may not be considered.
Meanwhile, party chief KCR is likely to contest from the Medak seat, with senior leader Vanteru Pratap Reddy from Gajwel being considered as an alternative candidate, according to TOI. Other contenders for various seats include ex-MLA Padma Devender Reddy, Madan Reddy, and ex-MLA Atram Sakku for the Adilabad seat, the report stated.
There is uncertainty surrounding MLC K Kavitha’s candidacy for the Nizamabad seat, as she still has four years remaining in her term.
