As much as it may seem otherwise, celebrities sometimes behave just like us regular folks, whether it’s chugging on coffee like our lives depend on it or accidentally matching outfits. This is what happened with Katie Holmes and Meghan Markle who ended up wearing the same dress, a few weeks apart.
Holmes was photographed out and about in New York City this week sporting the Theo, a black and white striped tube dress by the Australian brand Posse. The Dawson’s Creek actor finished off her ensemble off with cream Balenciaga high-top sneakers, a monogrammed black leather APC Poppy tote bag, and black oversized sunglasses.
The striped dress is one that devotees of celebrity fashion will be familiar with because the Duchess of Sussex wore it earlier this month to mark her birthday. The shoulder-baring tube dress was styled by Meghan with flat Emme Parsons black leather sandals, gold Tabayer earrings, a gold Jennifer Meyer tennis bracelet, a gold Cartier Tank watch, and a beaded Cult Gaia chestnut brown clutch to make it more evening-appropriate.
The column dress has ample room for movement while still being sufficiently body-fitting. For Holmes and Markle, who are both rather tall and skinny, the black and white horizontal stripes provide the appearance of width.
