Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to prepare a comprehensive Child Online Safety Framework to protect children from cybercrimes and ensure access to justice.
The framework will be prepared in consultation with the Telangana High Court and Telangana State Legal Services Authority (TGSLSA), A Revanth Reddy said while addressing the NALSA South Zone Regional Conference in Hyderabad on Saturday.
The conference, themed Justice for Children in Cyberspace, was attended by Supreme Court judges, Telangana High Court Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, Union Minister of State Arjun Ram Meghwal, and other senior judicial officials.
The Chief Minister called for greater involvement of parents in the proposed framework and urged them to remain aware of their children’s online activities.
“Be curious, not judgemental,” he said, stressing that parents and children should know the helpline numbers 1930 for cybercrime and 1098 for child-related assistance.
Revanth Reddy said protecting women and children remains a top priority for the Telangana government. He highlighted the role of Bharosa Centres, Child Protection Units, Child Welfare Committees, Special Courts, SHE-Bharosa Cyber Labs, and Legal Services Authorities in providing support and protection.
He also said the CybHER app is being used to create awareness among students and teachers about online safety, with students being encouraged to act as cyber ambassadors.
