Vijayawada: The Indian Medical Association (IMA) AP state unit in collaboration with the IMA College of General Practitioners (IMA CGP), is set to launch a one-year certificate course in diabetology.
This was announced by IMA AP state president Dr G Nandakishore and state secretary Dr M Subhash Chandra Bose in a press statement.
The certificate course, which will commence in Nov, is aimed at benefiting rural practitioners as well as specialists from various disciplines.
“Since diabetes affects almost every organ in the human body, it is essential that all doctors, including specialists and general practitioners, are updated with the latest treatment protocols.
This initiative will help doctors provide improved care to diabetic patients,” Dr Nandakishore and Dr Subhash Chandra Bose said.
Meanwhile, Dr Dhulipalla Bharat Kumar, president of IMA Piduguralla Branch, has been appointed as the convenor of the course.
The academic sessions will be conducted under the guidance of professor G Eswar, the past principal of Siddhartha Medical College and former HoD of general medicine. Further, the first batch will commence with 50 seats. On the occasion, the course brochure was released.
