Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday mentioned he’ll file a defamation case in opposition to Congress chief Rahul Gandhi over a tweet that linked him to the Adani group.
Addressing a press convention right here, Sarma mentioned the defamation case shall be filed after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s go to to Guwahati on April 14.
“Whatever Rahul Gandhi tweeted, it’s defamatory. We will reply after the PM leaves the state,” he mentioned.
“Definitely, a defamation case shall be filed in Guwahati,” he added.
Gandhi on Saturday took a swipe at some leaders who’ve give up the Congress in recent times and a few of whom have joined the BJP as he saved up his offensive in opposition to the federal government over the Adani problem.
“They conceal the reality, that’s why they mislead on a regular basis! The query stays the identical – whose Rs 20,000 crore benami cash is in Adani’s corporations?” Gandhi requested in a tweet in Hindi, sharing a picture with ‘Adani’ written as an acronym of kinds with letters of the names of the leaders.
He cited the names of Ghulam Nabi Azad, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Kiran Kumar Reddy and Anil Ok Antony in his tweet. After quitting the Congress, Azad shaped his personal social gathering, whereas the remainder joined the BJP. Scindia is now a Union minister and Sarma the chief minister of Assam.
Quoting Gandhi’s tweet, Sarma had earlier tweeted, “It was our decency to have by no means requested you, on the place have you ever hid the proceeds of crime from the Bofors and National Herald Scams. And the way you allowed Ottavio Quattrocchi to flee the clutches of Indian justice a number of instances. Any approach we’ll meet within the Court of Law (sic).” PM Modi will go to Guwahati to attend a number of programmes, together with the state’s try and create a report on Bihu with over 11,000 dancers and drummers.
