Beetroot Cutlets are nutritious and healthy snacks that are perfect for anyone who is looking for a healthy alternative to traditional deep fried options. This dish not only offers a delicious taste, but also has various health benefits. The Beetroot Cutlet has essential vitamins and minerals such as folate, manganese, potassium, and vitamin C. These added nutritional benefits of this recipe makes it an excellent addition to any diet. The vibrant red colour of beetroots also show their high content of antioxidants that helps the body to keep inflammation and oxidative stress away.

These Beetroot Cutlets are not just all about their nutritional value, what makes them special is that they can easily be moulded according to your taste. One can customise them by adding the spices, herbs, and vegetables of their choice in the mixture. Whether you are a fan of mild taste or want you cutlets to be spicy, this recipe’s versatility makes you add ingredients that suit your tastebuds.

Ingredients

  • 2 Piece Beetroot
  • 1 Cup Potato
  • 4 Tablespoon Breadcrumbs or Oat Flour
  • 1 Tablespoon Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • 0.5 Teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 2 Pinch Red Chilli Powder
  • 0.5 Teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1 Piece Green Chilli
  • 1 Tablespoon Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Lemon Juice
  • Salt

Cooking Instructions

To prepare the mixture, first grate the beetroots and boil the potatoes. Then mash the potatoes.

After that, take a large bowl, combine the grated beetroots and mashed potatoes.

Then, add cumin powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, green chillies, coriander leaves, and ginger-garlic paste to the beetroot potato mixture.

Mix all the ingredients properly and add salt and a squeeze of lemon.

You can also add breadcrumbs or oat flour to the mixture if it’s too wet. It will help in binding it properly.

Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into round or oval cutlets.

Take a non-stick pan and heat a tablespoon of oil in it. Once it’s hot place the cutlets in the pan.

Cook the cutlets on medium heat for 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy.

Once they’re cooked place it on paper towel to remove excess oil. Serve it with green chutney or yogurt dip.
