Raju Punjabi, a well-known Haryanvi singer, has passed away due to jaundice at the age of 40. The singer was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hisar for a liver-related ailment. Hailing from Rawatsar in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district, Raju Punjabi gained popularity for his hit Haryanvi tracks including “Aacha Lage Se,” “Desi Desi,” “Tu Cheez Lajawab,” “Last Peg,” and “Bhang Mere Yaara Ne.”
The news of the death of the singer was confirmed on his Instagram account. “With profound grief and sorrow, we regret to inform you that famous Haryanvi singer Raju Punjabi has left for the heavenly abode. His last rites will be performed on Tuesday (August 22, 2023) at his native village Rawatsar in Hanumangarh district, Rajasthan, nearKhetarpal temple at 3 PM,” the post shared on his social media profile, written originally in Hindi, reads.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has expressed had grief over the singer’s death and has said that….his passing away is an irreparable loss to the Haryana Music Industry.”
Reports indicate that Raju Punjabi had been undergoing treatment for jaundice over the past few weeks. Jaundice is a condition characterized by yellowing of the skin and eyes due to a build-up of bilirubin, a waste material, when the liver is not functioning properly. The accumulation of bilirubin causes a yellowish hue on the skin and eyes, progressing from yellow to greenish in color as the disease advances.
Symptoms Of Jaundice:
Common symptoms of jaundice include yellowish skin, dark-colored urine, pale stools, itching, and yellow discoloration in the mouth. Additional symptoms such as fever, chills, abdominal pain, and flu-like symptoms can also be associated with jaundice. According to a report by Harvard, jaundice results from the accumulation of bilirubin, a yellow pigment, and is often accompanied by dark yellow or brown urine due to excess bilirubin.
Possible causes of jaundice encompass gallstone disease, excessive alcohol consumption, cirrhosis, hepatitis, anemia, and adverse effects of certain medications.
