
The Delhi Police on Thursday registered an FIR in the assault case of Swati Maliwal, Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP, hours after senior cops visited Maliwal’s residence to take her statements in the case. According to the Delhi Police, the FIR mentions the name of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwals’ Personal Assistance (PA) Vibhav Kumar.
In her 7-page complaint to the Delhi Police, Swati Maliwal alleged that she was assaulted by Arvind Kejriwal’s PA at Delhi CM’s residence on Monday. According to Maliwal’s complaint, she was slapped by Vibhav Kumar on the face five-six times.
The AAP Rajya Sabha MP further alleged that she was also kicked below the abdomen by Vibhav Kumar. The entire incident took place in the drawing room. Arvind Kejriwal was present at home when all this happened.
The Delhi Police has registered FIR under sections 354, 506, 509 and assault sections 323.
IPC section 354 is for assault or criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty, 506 stands for punishment for criminal intimidation and 509 for word gesture or act of intent to insult.
