The tension between the United States and Iran has escalated again after former U.S. President Donald Trump shifted his tone following his China visit. Trump has warned Iran that it could face severe consequences if it does not agree to a peace deal, suggesting a much harsher stance than earlier discussions. In response, Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf strongly pushed back, stating that the Middle East conflict has already changed the global world order. He also supported remarks by Chinese President Xi Jinping about global transformation, claiming that Iran has played a significant role in this shift by standing firm against the United States. Meanwhile, tensions in the region have further increased with reports that Iran is planning a new maritime traffic management system in the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Under this plan, Iran may replace traditional tolls with a “service charge” system for ships passing through the route. Officials say this move is aimed at avoiding legal complications internationally while maintaining control over one of the world’s most important oil transit routes.
