man
shown
in
a
viral
video
allegedly
engaging
in
a
sexual
act
on
the
Delhi-Mumbai
Expressway
near
Mandsaur
has
been
arrested,
Madhya
Pradesh
Police
confirmed
on
Sunday.
The
incident,
which
reportedly
occurred
on
May
13,
drew
public
outrage
and
led
to
swift
action
from
law
enforcement.
While
the
police
did
not
officially
name
the
suspect,
the
individual
seen
in
the
footage
has
been
identified
as
Manoharlal
Dhakad
from
Mandsaur
district.
Transport
department
records
indicate
the
white
car
in
the
video
is
registered
in
his
name.

Abhishek
Anand
told
PTI,
“A
video
went
viral
on
May
13,
and
an
FIR
was
filed
at
Bhanpura
police
station.
Today,
the
accused
was
arrested
and
interrogated.
A
detailed
investigation
is
ongoing,
and
strict
action
will
be
taken
against
everyone
involved.”
Following
the
video’s
circulation,
Dhakad
was
removed
from
his
post
as
national
secretary
of
the
Dhakad
Mahasabha,
which
is
based
in
Ujjain.
The
incident
reportedly
took
place
near
Mandsaur,
around
200
km
from
Indore.
Mandsaur
DIG
Manoj
Kumar
Singh
previously
stated
that
the
location
was
verified
as
a
public
area
on
the
Delhi-Mumbai
Expressway
in
Bhanpura.
Police
have
booked
Dhakad
and
one
other
person
under
sections
296
(obscene
act
in
public),
285
(obstructing
a
public
way),
and
3(5)
of
the
BNS.

Reports
suggest
Dhakad’s
phone
had
been
switched
off
since
the
video
emerged,
and
he
has
not
responded
to
inquiries.
Amid
speculation
regarding
political
ties,
the
BJP
clarified
that
Dhakad
is
not
affiliated
with
the
party.
His
wife,
Sohan
Bai,
is
a
BJP-backed
district
panchayat
member
from
Ward
No.
8
in
Mandsaur,
but
BJP
leaders
confirmed
Dhakad’s
name
is
not
in
their
membership
rolls.
Mandsaur
BJP
district
president
Rajesh
Dixit
told
PTI,
“Dhakad
is
from
Bani
village
but
is
not
a
primary
BJP
member.
His
wife
is
a
panchayat
member,
but
it
is
unclear
if
he
has
joined
the
party
online.”
