announced
that
the
recently
completed
Urban
Extension
Road
(UER)-II
will
significantly
reduce
travel
time
from
Kundli
on
the
Delhi-Haryana
border
to
Terminal
3
of
the
Indira
Gandhi
International
Airport
(IGI).
This
transformation
will
bring
the
travel
duration
down
from
two
hours
to
just
20
minutes.
Gadkari
shared
this
information
during
an
interaction
with
the
Indian
community
in
Prague,
Czech
Republic.

Gadkari
stated,
“The
(UER
2)
will
reduce
the
travel
time
to
IGI
T3
airport
to
20
minutes
(from
Kundli
border
in
Delhi)
instead
of
two
hours.
We
have
also
constructed
a
tunnel
road
that
passes
under
the
airstrip
to
T3
of
IGI
airport.”

He
continued,
“On
the
way
to
Delhi,
after
Panipat,
there
is
a
peripheral
ring
road.
Beyond
that,
a
new
ring
road
known
as
UER
2
has
been
constructed
in
Delhi.
It
is
expected
to
be
opened
to
the
public
in
the
next
two
to
three
months.
Once
this
road
is
operational,
you
will
be
able
to
reach
T3
airport
directly
in
just
20
minutes,
instead
of
the
previous
two
hours.
A
significant
tunnel
has
been
built
within
the
road
at
the
Shiv
Murti
junction,
which
passes
below
the
airstrip.”
UER
2
is
the
country’s
first
elevated
urban
expressway
and
aims
to
alleviate
traffic
congestion
between
Delhi
and
Gurugram.
The
entire
project
carries
a
cost
of
Rs
9,000
crore.

stated
in
May
that
the
expressway
would
be
operational
before
December.
Key
Features
of
the
Expressway:
- It
spans
29
kilometers
and
is
the
country’s
first
elevated
eight-lane
access-controlled
expressway. - Toll
collection
on
the
Dwarka
Expressway
will
be
fully
automated,
and
the
entire
project
will
be
equipped
with
an
Efficient
Transport
System
(ITS). - The
road
network
of
this
expressway
includes
a
tunnel,
underpass,
grade
road,
elevated
road,
and
a
flyover
constructed
above
the
flyover. - It
will
enhance
connectivity
between
Haryana
and
West
Delhi
with
the
IGI
Airport.
In
Haryana,
the
expressway
intersects
with
Pataudi
Road
(SH-26)
near
Harsaru
and
Farukhnagar
(SH-15A)
near
Basai. - It
also
crosses
the
Delhi-Rewari
railway
line
near
Gurgaon
Sector-88
(B)
and
UER
2
at
Bharthal.
The
expressway
will
connect
Global
City
to
Dwarka
Sector-21
via
Gurugram
Sectors
88,
83,
84,
99,
and
113. - Travelers
using
the
Dwarka
Expressway
are
anticipated
to
cover
the
distance
from
Dwarka
to
IGI
Airport
in
just
five
minutes,
significantly
improving
the
mobility
of
Gurugram
residents.
