Last updated: April 11, 2026

Over 4,38,565 students sat for the Assam HSLC examination this year across 1,046 centres spread through the state — from Guwahati to Silchar, Dibrugarh to Dhubri. Every one of them has been waiting since exams ended on February 27. That wait ends on Thursday, April 10, 2026.

This is one of the earliest HSLC result declarations in recent years. The board moved quickly — partly because the Assam State Assembly elections fall on April 16, and Bihu begins April 15. ASSEB wanted results out before both events so students and families could focus on what comes next without administrative uncertainty hanging over them.

This guide tells you exactly how to check your result the moment it goes live, which websites to use, how DigiLocker and SMS work as backups, and — importantly — what to do in the next few days after you see your marks.

Date, Time & How to Check Online

Result Date, Time and Official Websites — Confirmed Details

Date: April 10, 2026 Time: 10:00 AM onwards Announced by: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma (official confirmation) ASSEB official statement: “We are preparing to declare the results on April 10, 2026 at 10:00 AM”

Official websites where result will appear:

Do not check results on any other website. Third-party sites sometimes show outdated or incorrect data, and some collect your roll number for unsolicited purposes. Use only the three URLs above.

How to Check Your Assam HSLC Result 2026 Online — Step by Step

Have your admit card ready before you open the website. You will need your roll number — printed clearly on the top of your admit card. No other login credential is required.

Step 1: Open any of the official websites listed above. On result day, all three will carry the result link. resultsassam.nic.in typically handles traffic better than sebaonline.org when millions of students are checking simultaneously.

Step 2: On the homepage, look for the link titled “High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLC) Results 2026” or similar. It will be prominently displayed on the homepage the moment results go live.

Step 3: Click the result link. A login page appears asking for your Roll Number. Enter it exactly as it appears on your admit card — including any prefix letters if present (for example, if your roll number on the admit card appears as B26 followed by digits, enter it in full).

Step 4: Complete the captcha verification and click “Get Results” or “Submit.”

Step 5: Your result appears — subject-wise marks, grades, total score, and pass or compartment status. Download the PDF immediately or take a clear screenshot. Do not rely on being able to reload the page — server traffic on result day can be unpredictable.

On mobile (Chrome recommended): The result portals work on Chrome for Android. Avoid Samsung Internet and UC Browser — captcha fields sometimes fail to respond on these browsers during high-traffic periods. If the page is not loading after two minutes, do not keep refreshing. Switch to resultsassam.nic.in and try from there.

Method 2: DigiLocker — For the Official Digital Marksheet

DigiLocker at https://digilocker.gov.in provides the electronically signed official marksheet — a legally valid document accepted by colleges and universities across India for admission purposes.

If you already have a DigiLocker account: Log in → go to “Issued Documents” → look for ASSEB or SEBA under the Education section. Your HSLC marksheet 2026 should appear automatically after results are declared.

If it does not appear automatically: tap “Search Documents” → type “SEBA” or “Assam HSLC” → enter your roll number and the year → click “Get Document.”

If you are new to DigiLocker: Download the DigiLocker app from Google Play Store (search “DigiLocker” — official app by NeGD). Register using your mobile number, complete OTP verification, and set a 6-digit security PIN. Once registered, go to Issued Documents and search for your HSLC marksheet as described above.

The DigiLocker marksheet is the same document your school will eventually give you in physical form. Most Class 11 admissions in Assam now accept the DigiLocker version directly — you do not need to wait for the printed copy from school if the institution accepts digital documents.

Method 3: UMANG App

Download UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) from Google Play Store or Apple App Store — it is free. Open the app, tap the search bar, and type “SEBA” or go to All Services → Education → SEBA HSLC Result.

Enter your roll number and submit. Your result appears on screen. UMANG runs on separate infrastructure from the board’s own website, so it can be a reliable backup when sebaonline.org is slow.

Method 4: SMS — Works Even on Basic Phones Without Internet

Open your SMS app and type:

ASSAM10(ROLL NUMBER)

Send to: 56263

Example: If your roll number is 1234567, send: ASSAM101234567 to 56263

Your result will be delivered as an SMS to your phone within a few minutes. This method works on any mobile — smartphone or basic phone — as long as you have basic network signal. It is the most reliable option for students in areas with slow data connectivity.

Reading Your Result — What the Marksheet Shows

Once your result loads, check these fields carefully:

Subject-wise marks: Theory marks and internal assessment marks are shown separately for each subject. Total marks per subject are typically out of 100 (80 theory + 20 internal assessment for most subjects).

Pass/Compartment status: The marksheet will show either “Passed,” “Compartment,” or “Essential Repeat” against your name. Compartment means you have not cleared one or two subjects and can appear for the compartment examination in July 2026. Essential Repeat means you need to reappear for three or more subjects in the next annual cycle.

Passing criteria for Assam HSLC 2026:

  • Minimum 30% marks in each individual subject to clear that subject
  • Minimum 30% overall aggregate across all subjects to pass

This is important: clearing each subject individually is not enough on its own — you also need the overall aggregate to be at least 30%. Both conditions must be met.

Division/Grade: The marksheet shows your division based on aggregate percentage — First Division (60% and above), Second Division (45%–59%), Third Division (30%–44%).

Case Study 1: Priyanka from Jorhat, Assam

Priyanka appeared for HSLC in 2025. She scored well in Science and Maths but got exactly 24 out of 80 in her Social Science theory paper — below the 30% threshold for that subject. Her overall aggregate was 48%, which would have been Second Division. But because she fell below 30% in one subject, she was marked Compartment for Social Science.

She did not panic. Within a week of the result, her school submitted her name for the compartment examination in July 2025. She cleared it comfortably after focused preparation on just that one subject. Her final marksheet showed Second Division with the compartment notation — which was accepted without issue for Class 11 admission at her local higher secondary school.

The lesson: a compartment in one or two subjects is not the end. The process exists precisely to give students a second opportunity without losing a full academic year.

What Nobody Tells You: The Server Window That Actually Works

Every year on HSLC result day, the board websites get hit with millions of simultaneous requests from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. For that first hour, sebaonline.org and asseb.in often time out completely.

Here is what most result guides do not mention: resultsassam.nic.in — the NIC-hosted portal — is typically the most stable of the three because it is hosted on government cloud infrastructure designed for high-traffic events. If the board’s own websites are slow, go directly to resultsassam.nic.in first.

Second: if all three sites are timing out, wait until 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM. The traffic spike drops sharply after the first hour. Students who check at 11:45 AM often get through in under a minute. Your result will not disappear. The data is static once declared — it will be there at noon, at 2 PM, at 8 PM. There is no deadline for checking.

Third: DigiLocker sometimes receives the marksheet before the board website becomes fully accessible, because ASSEB pushes data to DigiLocker directly. Try DigiLocker at 10:05 AM even before trying the main website.

Case Study 2: Rahul from Barpeta, Assam

Rahul checked his HSLC 2024 result — pass percentage that year was 75.70%. He saw his result on the website but the page crashed before he could save or print it. He panicked and tried repeatedly to reload the site for two hours.

What he should have done — and what he did only after a friend suggested it — was open DigiLocker. His marksheet was already available in his Issued Documents. He downloaded the PDF, saved it to his phone, and shared it with his parents on WhatsApp — all within 10 minutes of the DigiLocker suggestion.

He now had an official, electronically signed marksheet on his phone before the board website became reliably accessible again. For his Class 11 admission that afternoon, he showed the DigiLocker document on his phone. The school accepted it without asking for a printed copy.

What to Do Immediately After Checking Your Result

If you have passed: Your school will begin Class 11 admissions shortly — in many cases within days of the result. Check with your school directly about their admission process and stream selection (Science, Commerce, or Arts). Do not delay this conversation, as seats in Science stream fill quickly at popular higher secondary schools.

If you have a compartment in one or two subjects: Do not wait. Contact your school and confirm that they have noted your compartment status for the July 2026 compartment examination. The application for compartment exams is submitted through your school — you do not apply directly to ASSEB. Make sure your school knows you intend to appear for the compartment exam.

If you want re-checking: Students who believe their marks were calculated incorrectly can apply for re-checking of answer scripts. The application window opens approximately 15 days after result declaration and closes in June 2026. Apply through the ASSEB portal at sebaonline.org. The fee is:

  • Re-checking only: ₹350 per subject
  • Photocopy of answer script plus re-checking: ₹550 per subject

Re-checking covers totalling errors and unevaluated answers — the examiner does not re-evaluate your written responses. If you genuinely believe an answer was marked wrong, the photocopy option lets you see your evaluated script before deciding on further steps.

Common Mistakes and How to Fix Them

❌ Entering the roll number with spaces or in the wrong format ✅ Enter your roll number exactly as printed on your admit card — no spaces, no extra characters. If the card shows “B261234567,” enter it in that format. If it shows only digits, enter only digits.

❌ Checking result on third-party websites that promise “instant results” ✅ Use only sebaonline.org, asseb.in, and resultsassam.nic.in. Third-party sites may show last year’s data or incorrect marks. Some ask you to create accounts or share personal details to “access” results — these are not authorised by ASSEB.

❌ Closing the browser before saving or screenshotting the result ✅ The moment your result loads, take a full screenshot before doing anything else. Then look for the Download or Print button and save the PDF. Do not rely on the browser history to retrieve it — result pages are session-based and may not reload.

❌ On mobile: using Chrome in private/incognito mode ✅ Captcha and result submission sometimes fail in private mode on mobile browsers. Use regular browsing mode. If the result page hangs, clear your Chrome cache (Settings → Privacy → Clear Browsing Data) and try again.

❌ Assuming the online marksheet is the final official document for all purposes ✅ The online result is provisional. For official admissions, scholarships, and further studies, the original printed marksheet issued by your school is the final document. Collect it from your school as soon as it is distributed — usually 2 to 4 weeks after result declaration.

❌ Not checking the marksheet carefully for name or date of birth errors ✅ Open the marksheet immediately after downloading and verify your name spelling and date of birth. If anything is wrong, report it to your school the same day. Corrections are processed through ASSEB via the school — the earlier you flag an error, the faster it gets resolved.

Frequently Asked Questions

Assam HSLC Result 2026 kab aayega aur kaise check karein?

SEBA HSLC Result April 10, 2026 ko subah 10 baje declare hoga. Check karne ke liye sebaonline.org, asseb.in ya resultsassam.nic.in par jaayein, apna roll number enter karein aur submit karein. SMS se bhi check kar sakte hain: ASSAM10 ke baad apna roll number likhein aur 56263 par bhejein.

What are the official websites to check Assam HSLC Result 2026?

Three official portals: sebaonline.org, asseb.in, and resultsassam.nic.in. All three carry the same result. On result day, resultsassam.nic.in is usually the most stable. DigiLocker at digilocker.gov.in also provides the official digital marksheet.

What is the passing mark for Assam HSLC 2026?

Students must score at least 30% in each individual subject and a minimum 30% overall aggregate across all subjects to be declared passed. Both conditions must be satisfied simultaneously.

Mero roll number admit card maa chhaina — ke garna parchha? (What if I don’t have my roll number?)

Apno school ma samparka garnus. School authorities sanga ASSEB ko register maa sabai students ko roll number hunchha. Afno admit card khoje — usually school office sanga ek copy hunchha. Roll number bina result check garna mildaina.

How many students appeared for Assam HSLC 2026?

A total of 4,38,565 students appeared — 1,90,243 male and 2,48,322 female — across 1,046 examination centres across Assam. Exams were conducted from February 10 to February 27, 2026.

What was last year’s pass percentage for Assam HSLC?

In 2025, the SEBA HSLC pass percentage was 63.98% — 2,70,471 students passed out of 4,22,737 who appeared. In 2024, the pass percentage was 75.70%. The 2026 figure will be announced alongside the result on April 10.

Can I use the DigiLocker marksheet for Class 11 admission?

Yes. ASSEB’s electronically signed marksheet on DigiLocker is legally valid and accepted by most higher secondary schools in Assam and across India for admission purposes. Check with your specific school whether they require the physical copy as well — most now accept the DigiLocker document.

What happens if I fail in three or more subjects?

Failing in three or more subjects results in an “Essential Repeat” status — meaning you would need to appear for the full HSLC examination in the next academic cycle (2027). Failing in one or two subjects results in a compartment status, which can be cleared through the July 2026 compartment examination without losing a full year.

Board examination results carry enormous weight in a student’s mind — far beyond what the marks on a sheet actually determine. In my years working across administrative roles in government service, I have seen people build remarkable careers from modest Class 10 results and struggle despite strong academic starts. What the HSLC result does is open a door — to a stream, a school, a direction. It is a beginning, not a verdict.

Check your result on April 10 at https://sebaonline.org. Save it. Verify the details. Then talk to your school about what comes next.
