Amid political uproar over the Congress manifesto for Karnataka elections declaring a ban on Bajrang Dal, former chief minister and Congress chief Jagadish Shettar mentioned there is no such thing as a question of banning the right-wing outfit. Shettar joined the Congress a day after quitting BJP after being denied a ticket for the May 10 meeting polls within the state. The Congress manifesto mentioned the social gathering is dedicated to taking agency and decisive motion towards people and organisations spreading hatred amongst communities on grounds of caste and faith. “We consider that legislation and Constitution are sacrosanct and can’t be violated by people and organisations like Bajrang Dal, PFI or others selling enmity or hatred…” the manifesto mentioned.
