TV actor, Bigg Boss 19 winner and also Celebrity MasterChef season 1 champion, Gaurav Khanna, was competing against Rubina Dilaik and Shagun Sharma in the elimination task when the injury occurred. While the actor has now left the show, the episode has left fans wondering whether he could return as a wild card contestant after recovering. However, neither Gaurav nor host Rohit Shetty has confirmed or hinted at a wild card return.
The elimination task was extremely challenging. The contestants had to jump between two narrow bridges suspended high above the water, without a safety harness. One of the bridges was constantly rotating, while the contestants had to collect flags of different colours while maintaining their balance.
Gaurav Khanna suffers elbow injury during elimination stunt
Shagun Sharma, who performed the stunt first, collected six flags, while Rubina Dilaik managed to collect five. Gaurav began the task with enthusiasm but lost his balance and fell into the water. As he attempted to climb out using the ladder, he injured his elbow.
The pain became too severe for him to continue with the stunt. Rohit Shetty later revealed that Gaurav was already suffering from tennis elbow and that the condition had worsened during the task, ultimately forcing him to leave the show.
Gaurav bids an emotional farewell to Khatron Ke Khiladi 15
Gaurav appeared visibly emotional as his journey came to an abrupt end. While saying goodbye to the show, he spoke about the bonds he had formed during his time in Khatron Ke Khiladi 15. He specifically mentioned Farhana Bhat, Harsh Gujral and Orry (Orhan Awatramani) as some of the contestants he had grown particularly close to.
Fans wonder if Gaurav could return as a wild card
Gaurav’s exit has sparked speculation among fans about a possible return to Khatron Ke Khiladi 15. Many viewers believe that the actor could make a comeback as a wild card contestant once he has recovered from his injury. The possibility appeared to remain open during the episode, which prompted some fans to wonder whether his exit could be temporary. However, there has been no official confirmation of a wild card return from Gaurav, Rohit Shetty or the show’s makers. For now, the actor’s Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 journey has officially ended due to his injury.
Gaurav has faced painful stunts before
This was not the first injury Gaurav sustained during the season. Earlier, he suffered deep bruises on his back during a stunt involving pellet guns. At the time, he described the task as one of the most painful experiences of his Khatron Ke Khiladi journey.
The show has maintained that the stunts are performed with international safety standards and necessary safety protocols in place.
