Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday will unveil a statue of former Prime Minister and farmer leader Chaudhary Charan Singh in Bilari in Moradabad district on the occasion of the latter’s birth anniversary.
The Chief Minister is also scheduled to address a “Kisan Maha Sammelan” there.
“In Bilari area of Moradabad, work has been going on for past one year to construct tallest statue of Chaudhary Charan Singh. It is complete and will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on December 23,” said Jitendra Chaudhary, president of UP Jat Mahasabha, adding the statue is 51-foot tall .
Officials in state government confirmed that the chief minister would visit Moradabad and Bijnore districts in UP on Saturday. Before leaving for Morabadad, the chief minister would garland the statue of Chaudhary Charan Singh at Vidhan Bhawan in Lucknow and give away tractors to 51 farmers under Chief Minister Krishak Uphar Yojna, officials said.
