Cow vigilante Mohit Yadav alias Monu Manesar has been sent to 14-day judicial custody by a court in Pataudi on Wednesday. Yadav was sent to Bhondsi jail by the court of Tarannum Khan, sub-divisional judicial magistrate Pataudi.
According to Gurgaon police which sought judicial custody for 14 days, the interrogation revealed that on February 6, Monu Manesar had gone to the residence of Rakesh, also known as Sunil, a resident of Pataudi, along with his associates.
There, Rakesh had informed him that some people from the opposing party were creating trouble and that they were on their way. Rakesh had also called Lalit, a resident of Pataudi, for assistance. A short while later, the people from the opposing party arrived, and they began pelting stones at Rakesh’s house, causing damage to the windows. When the accused came outside, they allegedly heard the sound of gunshots. They fired several shots from his licensed rifle 315 bore and also fired 01-02 rounds from his pistol. The accused Monu’s ballistic report shows the recovery of a rifle, four live cartridges, two empty cartridges, and a bulletproof vehicle (white Scorpio),” police said.
