Filmmaker Aditya Dhar, who is basking in the success of his Dhurandhar films and three National Awards for Article 370, has cheered for Yash’s Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups. The director didn’t post a long note; however, ensured his crisp caption and emojis do all the talking.
Aditya Dhar roots for Yash’s Toxic
Aditya posted a photo of Yash from Toxic on his Instagram story and cheered for him. Tagging the Kannada superstar, the filmmaker wrote “Yash”, and posted a bicep (indicating strength) and a red heart emoji, praising his film. Take a look:
Toxic was previously slated to clash with Dhurandhar in March
For the unversed, Toxic was previously slated for release on March 19, 2026. The film was to clash with Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge at the box office. However, the release date was pushed closer to the film’s previously mentioned release in March.
Yash opens up about romantic scenes in Toxic
In August, Yash appeared on Aap Ki Adalat, hosted by India TV Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Rajat Sharma. When Yash was reminded that he had earlier admitted feeling nervous while shooting romantic scenes, the actor said he has changed with time.
“Hundred per cent badal gaya hoon. Aadmi badalta hai; agar koi bolta hai ki main nahin badla 20 saal se, woh jhooth kehta hai. Evolution is a part of human nature. Sab log evolve hote hain; jis cheez ko aap 10 saal pehle maante the, woh cheez alag hoti hai, aur jis cheez ko ek hafte pehle sochte the, woh alag hoti hai. That is life; it keeps changing.”
Rajat Sharma then showed Yash a clip from Tabaahi and pointed out that Kiara Advani appears to be shedding her clothes one by one in the song. Yash explained that the scene was meant to show the relationship between his character Raya and Nadia. “Jo characters hai, ek Raya, ek Nadia, woh ek doosre ko pyaar is tarah karte hain ki duniya ko care nahin karte, usko dikhane ke liye humko woh scene karni padi and trust me, sir, hum bhi nervous rehte hain.”
Yash reacts to criticism over Toxic scenes
Yash was also asked about the criticism that the film’s romantic scenes were vulgar. The actor said people sometimes focus on a few moments instead of looking at the film as a whole. “I see, there are many people who only watch one or two things out of a hundred good things and speak about it. Jinko takleef hai, woh nahin dekhen.”
Rajat Sharma also brought up a viewer’s comment comparing Tabaahi to a condom advertisement. Yash responded with a cheeky remark. “Condom ad karni hai toh main paisa leke karoonga, agar karni hai toh. Muft mein nahin karoonga.”
Toxic released in theatres on August 26. The film has crossed Rs 200 crore at the box office in less than a week’s release.
