Power supply was hit in many parts of Punjab following high-velocity winds on Wednesday evening.
“As poles and timber have been uprooted it led to power snags in many parts of the state. The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) is flooded with complaints because the power supply is but to be restored in many parts,” stated officers.
In many parts, power traces have been lower. While power was restored in many districts round 6.30 am, in many others the officers are attempting to restore the harm.
The storm broken many 220kv supply traces and transformers.
“Our area employees is working at many locations since 5 am. Hopefully the power supply will probably be restored. I’m personally monitoring the scenario,” stated PSPCL CMD Baldev Singh Sran.
“Malwa is affected extra. Majha and Doaba have been affected much less. Muktsar, Bathinda, Faridkot, Fazilka, Barnala, Sangrur, Patiala, Malerkotla, Ludhiana, Mohali and Fatehgarh Sahib districts have been majorly affected,” stated PSPCL officers.
“Our groups are on the job and officers with backup infrastructure from our shops have been dispatched to the areas the place most harm has been completed,” stated officers.
They stated that after restoring supply to city areas, work to revive power in villages could be undertaken.
“The state load which dropped from 7,000 MW to 2,500 MW in the evening through the storm has elevated to five,400 MW by 8.45 am, exhibiting that supply in many areas has been restored,” Sran stated.
