A 24-year-old man was beaten to death by shop owners in Ghaziabad after he was suspected to be a thief. The victim, Anil Kumar, was discovered loitering near a furniture shop that had previously experienced a series of thefts.
Anil, who was assaulted around 2 am, was later found lifeless in a green area near Tila Mor six hours later. Subsequently, three owners of furniture shops were taken into custody, following a complaint lodged by Anil’s family.
Shubham Patel, the Deputy Commissioner of Police for the trans-Hindon area, stated that they received information about Anil’s body from a passerby at approximately 8am. He remarked, “It appeared that he had suffered fatal blows. There were no visible external injuries. A forensic team conducted an examination of the crime scene, and the body was sent for an autopsy.”
The deceased was eventually identified, and Anil’s family members were notified. His mother, Meena, lodged an official police complaint.
The three detained shop owners were identified as Akhlaq Khan (26) from Badaun, Shubhan Khan (24) from Tila Mor, and Naushad (20) from DLF colony in Ghaziabad. According to police reports, they were involved in buying and selling second-hand furniture.
