The Border Security Force (BSF) on Tuesday recovered 31 packets of suspected charas and one packet of heroin from three isolated islands off the Kutch coast in Gujarat.

The first recovery of 10 packets of charas was made from Sekharan Pir bet about nine kilometers off the Jakhau coast in Kutch district. Similarly, a packet of heroin was recovered from Luna bet located about six kilometers off Jakhau Coast. The packet, a white colour plastic bag, is similar to the one recovered from Kundi bet on August 14, according to an official statement from the BSF.

In addition to this, 21 packets of charas were recovered from Bakal bet located about seven kilometers off Jakhau Coast. These recoveries were made for a third consecutive day during search operations conducted by BSF.
Since mid-April 2023, a total of 81 packets of charas and 10 packets of heroin have been recovered off Jakhau Coast, the release added.
