A report by Times Now said that , Police reports revealed that Babu and Dhruv often drank together. On Tuesday night, they went to an abandoned house in the Jaripatka area for a drinking session. During an argument, Babu allegedly threatened Dhruv and later fell asleep.
Following which Sahu allegedly tied Chhetri with wires and attacked him with a sharp weapon
Soon after receiving the information, a team from the Jaripatka police station reached the scene. Within six hours, the Crime Detection Branch apprehended the accused, Dhruv Lal Bahadur Sahu, who already had a few criminal cases registered against him.
Nagpur Police revealed that Kshatriya too had a past involving minor offences. In 2022, he was arrested for stealing jewellery and cash worth ₹5 lakh. Recently, he and Sahu had been involved in a monetary dispute. Although the two had clashed earlier, their friends had stepped in to defuse the situation at that time.
Jhund, directed by Nagraj Manjule and headlined by Amitabh Bachchan, is based on the inspiring story of Vijay Barse — a man who created a football team from slum children in Nagpur to help them find purpose and identity. The film featured several local youngsters, including Kshatriya, who played the role of a footballer named Babu Chhetri.
Born and raised near the railway tracks in Nagpur, Kshatriya came from a humble background. His father worked as a daily wage labourer, and he was the youngest among four siblings, with three elder sisters. Over the years, he reportedly became addicted to drugs, which pushed him towards petty crimes such as stealing coal from trains.
