New Delhi: Max Institute of Medical Education, (MIME) an education arm of Max Healthcare has accused the Institute of Clinical Research India (ICRI) of misusing its brand name to mislead students and clarified that it has no official partnership or ongoing association with the institute.
Issuing a public notice MIME alleged that the academic institute is unilaterally using its branding on its website to “mislead students and the general public into believing that a formal partnership continues to exist between the two.
“ICRI (Institute of Clinical Research India) is using our name, logo, and branding on its website and other platforms to mislead students and the general public into believing that a formal partnership or institutional tie-up continues to exist between Max and ICRI,” the notice reads.
The hospital’s education division disclaimed any responsibility arising out of such representations, perhaps said, it is no longer associated with ICRI in any manner.
“We wish to categorically clarify that there is currently no association, partnership, collaboration, or formal agreement of any kind and disclaims any responsibility arising out of such misrepresentations,” it stated.
MIME has also cautioned prospective students to verify any such claims directly with Max before making educational or financial commitments and has to report such cases on its official compliance mail id mentioned in the notice.
ICRI is an academic institute which offers courses like BSc, PG Diploma in Advanced Clinical Research in partnership with various hospitals across regions like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, among several others.
Notably, ICRI conducts the practical sessions of its postgraduate diploma in Advanced Clinical Research and Pharmacovigilance program at Max’s Saket based Super Speciality facility.
When contacted for comments on Max’s allegations, Dr Rajniti Kumar, Regional Head, ICRI, said “the branding was being used under an ongoing partnership, and the institute is scheduled to meet Max Healthcare senior executives on Monday to discuss the matter.”
“Meanwhile, as a corrective measure the institute has removed all Max Healthcare branding from its website,” Kumar added.
However, speaking to ETHelahtworld the company spokesperson said, “the joint educational programmes, was officially concluded on March 28, 2025” and the collaboration has been terminated.
As per the official on June 24, 2025, MIME had also issued a formal cease-and-desist notice to ICRI, requesting the immediate removal of all “unauthorized use of the Max brand identity from its platforms.”
“Despite the termination of this collaboration and ICRI continued to use the MIME name and logo on its website to promote student admissions,” the spokesperson said.
