
Delhi News Live Updates: The national capital’s air quality deteriorated even further on the day before Diwali, with a massing of pollution that raised the wide-scale AQI in the region to 278 —within the ‘poor’ category. Eight out of the 36 stations particularly Anand Vihar and Mundka aggregating violations were labelled ‘very poor’ due to air quality being so low in the area. The humidity level stood at 83 per cent at 8 am. The city would see mainly clear skies during the day with the maximum temperature expected to hover around 36 degrees Celsius.
In other news, France’s Ambassador to India, Thierry Mathou, complained to the Delhi Police after his mobile phone was allegedly stolen in North Delhi’s Chandni Chowk on Wednesday. Following the report, four men were arrested, and the police successfully recovered the stolen phone from their possession.
Fire incident: A deadly fire broke out at the “Lotus Grenadier” banquet hall in Sector-113, resulting in the death of an electrician. The fire was first reported at 3:30 am and quickly spread due to the hall’s wooden structure. Despite the efforts of 15 fire engines, it took nearly three hours to control the blaze. The cause is being investigated, and a similar incident occurred at the same hall last year.
