In a series of violent incidents, a man killed his wife, while in separate clashes, two other individuals lost their lives due to shootings and assaults on Tuesday.
Police have taken custody of the bodies and registered cases against the suspects involved.
In the first incident, which occurred in the jurisdiction of Gulberg police station, Muneer Ahmed Khan, a resident of Street 7, Muhammadpura, allegedly killed his wife Muneeba Begum over a domestic dispute.
Police said Khan used a sharp object and struck his wife’s head with a hammer before fleeing the scene. The deceased had been paralysed for an extended period, living with a disability.
Gulberg Police took the body into custody and transferred it to a hospital.
Authorities have launched a manhunt to arrest the absconding husband.
In another tragic event near Decent Bakery in Chakra Chowk, under the jurisdiction of Madina Town Police Station, Aslam was shot and killed during a violent clash.
Aslam, a security guard from 204-RB, was caught in crossfire between two groups led by Haseeb and Hasan Khokhar.
Both groups exchanged gunfire, and Aslam was struck in the neck. He was rushed to Allied Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
Police have registered a murder case against 18 suspects from both groups and are conducting raids to apprehend those involved.
In a third case, Abdul Jabbar, a resident of 241-RB Chinchalwala, was allegedly killed over a financial dispute. His brother, Muhammad Sufyan, reported to Thikriwala Police that Abdul Jabbar was taken by suspects Ahsan, son of Akhtar Mahmood, and Saeed, son of Pomi, to settle an outstanding debt of Rs810,000.
The suspects reportedly tortured and killed Abdul Jabbar, later discarding his body near Seam Nullah. Thikriwala police have taken the body into custody, completed the necessary procedures, and handed it over to the victim’s family while registering a murder case against the accused.
Investigations are ongoing in all three cases as authorities intensify efforts to bring the culprits to justice.
