A 17-year-old boy finding out at school twelfth unintentionally shot himself lifeless while allegedly posing with a revolver for a selfie in Bajeke village of Moga district on Wednesday, police stated.
Identified as Gurbinder Singh, the boy was taking selfie with the licenced revolver of his father however unintentionally pulled the set off of the loaded weapon. The bullet handed by his head leaving him in a pool of blood. The members of the family rushed him to a hospital however he succumbed to extreme head accidents.
The aggrieved members of the family of the younger boy have been in a state of shock over this unlucky incident.
Boy’s father Sukhwinder Singh stated that his son was cleansing the revolver when it went-off however preliminary findings urged that Gurbinder tried to take a selfie by placing his finger on the set off, which led to the tragic incident.
Dharamkot SHO Jaswinder Singh maintained that it was an unintentional loss of life, as per the assertion of the boy’s father recorded by the police. “We took the physique into custody and despatched it for autopsy examination on the district hospital, after which, it was handed over to the members of the family for cremation,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the police had initiated inquest proceedings underneath Section 174 of the CrPC into the incident, the SHO added.
