Lahore’s Greater Iqbal Park suffered a loss of roughly Rs8 million due to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Minar-e-Pakistan rally held a day earlier, Express News reported on Sunday.
Parks & Horticulture Authority Lahore (PHA) has began a survey for the damages within the park and estimated the loss to be round Rs12 million. However, the ultimate report can be issued by March 27 (tomorrow).
Moreover, due to the rally, many of the parks and small vegetation of the Greater Iqbal Park had been destroyed, whereas the locks put in on the gates by the PHA administration had been additionally damaged by the members of the rally.

According to Javed Hamid, venture director of Greater Iqbal Park, the PTI had caused a loss of Rs4 million within the earlier rally, the quantity of which has not been paid until now.
He added, “now extra harm has been caused, a report of which can be ready and despatched to the management of the celebration”.
The Lahore rally, which was initially deliberate for Wednesday, was scheduled for Saturday because the district authorities had refused to grant permission for the aim.
Earlier, the celebration had twice endeavoured to maintain a public gathering in Lahore however the provincial authorities imposed Section 144 on each events.
