Forty-seven vehicles, together with 35 two-wheelers, had been destroyed in a fire at the Subhanpur police station on the Jalandhar-Amritsar National Highway on Tuesday, police mentioned.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rajpal Singh Sandhu mentioned vehicles caught fire after sparks from {an electrical} transformer close to the police station.
He mentioned it took an hour for fire tenders to douse the flames.
The SSP mentioned that many of the vehicles had been the case property of accidents and a few vehicles belonged to non-public individuals.
He mentioned the precise loss is but to be ascertained.
