The All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) organised a protest at Government General Hospital within the metropolis on Monday, seeking rapid payment of pending wages of all contract workers of the hospital.
AITUC district common secretary Bugata Ashok alleged that the workers and their relations have been dealing with many untold miseries due to the non-payment of wages for a lot of months.
He stated that dwelling guards, workers of the sanitation wing and pest management workers weren’t paid their wages in spite of repeated representations given to the hospital administration. He threatened to intensify the protest if justice was not completed instantly to all of the contract workers.
