Teachers of Guru Gobind Singh Government Medical College and Hospital in the present day met Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh right here and urged him to enhance the retirement age of doctors from 62 years to 65 years to overcome the acute scarcity of college.
Dr Harpreet Kaur, president, Teachers’ Association, stated, “Extending the retirement age will permit skilled college members to proceed serving the institute and share their experience with juniors.”
Members of the affiliation stated scarcity of college members was immediately impacting the standard of schooling and affected person care. They additionally demanded revised pay scales for brand new recruits. “Despite the implementation of the sixth Pay Commission, newly-recruited college on the school is drawing much less wage in contrast to their counterparts,” they stated, including that time-bound promotions must also be ensured.
