New Delhi, May 25
The Centre has accorded ‘Z-plus’ class armed security cowl to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in view of possible threats to him emanating from the nation and overseas, official sources mentioned right here.
The 49-year-old might be secured by the VIP safety squad of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), they mentioned.
The top-category ‘Z-plus’ cowl might be offered to Mann all throughout India and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) not too long ago accorded the sanction for this, the sources mentioned.
They mentioned the CRPF will quickly take over the duty and a workforce of 55 armed personnel has been earmarked for it.
The newest security cowl, other than the Punjab Police safety, will safe the chief minister’s home and fast relations too, the sources mentioned.
Such a security cowl for Mann was beneficial by the central intelligence and security companies in the course of the preparation of a ‘menace notion evaluation’ report of the chief minister in the wake of Khalistani actions in the border state, they mentioned.
